In-house research teams at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Lexington include renowned experts whose discoveries have changed care practices and improved the lives of many children.

Many clinical research studies are performed at the Lexington Shriners Hospital each year by its attending physicians, residents and scientific staff. Ongoing research projects focus on assessing treatment outcomes for the various orthopaedic conditions treated at the hospital.

The hospital staff shares the findings of their research with other health care professionals through presentations at national meetings and publications in scientific journals.

The Lexington hospital's medical staff presented the results of five studies at the March 2014 American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons meeting in New Orleans.
